The red carpet is back! We may not be ‘back to normal’ quite yet, but watching the 2021 Oscars made that day seem just a little bit closer. It was great to see event designers using smarts and creativity to produce a glamorous COVID-safe event. And, after a year of yoga pants, it was such fun to see the stars getting glammed up! This year, it was all about bright colors and glamorous gold dresses (and suits!). But the red carpet also provided plenty of inspiration for brides. And why not? After all, you should feel like a star when you take center stage at your wedding! So here are some of my favourite wedding-worthy dresses from the 2021 Oscars red carpet.
Viola Davis. This multi-award-winning actress always looks incredible and the 2021 Oscars red carpet was no exception. She wore a floor-length Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress and also carried a Jimmy Choo clutch. The custom laser-cut silk illusion bodice gown would look just as good going down the aisle!
Tiara Thomas. Singer-songwriter Tiara Thomas was a winner on the red carpet as well as at the awards. Her Jovana Louis pantsuit featured flared trousers and an oversize jacket with feather trim. And, while only the boldest brides might take the plunge with a V-neckline as deep as this one, I love the way she accented it with an elegant diamond lariat.
Stacey Walker King. Producer Charles D. King and his wife, Stacey, made a glamorous pair on the 2021 Oscars red carpet. Stacy wore a beautiful nude A-line gown with tulle and flower detailing. It would be amazing on a bride and also paired perfectly with Charles’ brown jacket and bowtie and black pant combo. It’s a great twist on classic black for a groom!
